GP surgery insurance

Nobody knows your surgery better than you, but our consultants can help you decide the right level of protection for you. Including cover for:

• Public liability insurance for doctors - up to £10m limit of indemnity
• Employers' liability - with a £10m limit of indemnity
• Refrigerated drug and vaccine insurance - up to £50,000 at a single location (with the option to increase if you need it).
• Equipment inspection and breakdown - for your specialist medical equipment, lifts and escalators
• Business interruption - cover for loss of income and additional expenses up to 24 months
• Legal expenses - cover up to £50,000 for employment disputes, legal defence, contractual disputes, tax protection and more
• Surgery group policies - you can insure all your surgeries with a range of group policies
• Accidental damage to buildings and contents - protection for one-off and unintentional incidents like spillages and breakages
• Acts of terrorism - if your surgery is damaged or you lose income from a terrorist act

Unfortunately, GP surgery insurance can’t cover everything. For example, national or global threats (such as wars), nuclear risks or pandemics.

Here’s more on what isn’t included:

• Buildings and contents: wear and tear, gradual deterioration, vermin, rust, damp or mildew.
• Business interruption: any business interruption from compulsory closure that is not local to the insured premises.
• Computer breakdown: loss, destruction or damage to any computer equipment caused by malicious activity, hacking, viruses or similar mechanisms. For this cover, you may need cyber insurance.
